Since 1948 Cheswick Theatres has been in continuous operation on the corner of Pittsburgh Street and Highland Avenue. In 1966, a second screen was added and became the first twin theatre in the city of Pittsburgh. In 1977, a third and fourth screen were added. In 1998, to keep up with demand for high quality movie entertainment, Cheswick expanded to six screens, four with stadium seating, the first in the Pittsburgh area! All screens feature Dolby Digital sound for the ultimate movie experience! The latest editions came in 2001 when additional parking was added and a private party room was opened! 2003 brough a remodeled concession stand to accommodate more customers and a new computer system which included new touch screen concession and ticketing systems.
The Cheswick Theatre ammenities include daily mantinees, handicap accessibility, full service concession station, and large cup holders in all seats. Gift certificates are also available, just ask the cashier at your next visit!
